August 2025

Kia ora,

After a bit of rain, the river reached a depth of 20m at the start of the month.

The beginners classes continued all through the month.

We attended our friend Marshall’s memorial which was an emotional day. Her sister flew in from the USA and her eulogy was lovely – we learned so much about Marshall’s early life that she’d never mentioned.

The altar had a mix of bonsai and other items that were special to Marshall.

Whilst we attended the memorial, Bev and Tom popped around to let the girls out and give them a chew each for lunch – the girls that is.

Honey trying out Sox’s favourite early morning spot.

Azaria and Carolien visited…………………….

………………. so Peter had to learn how to bake chocolate brownies. The verdict? ………….. scrumptious! Ann is rapidly losing all her jobs – she’d better get well soon!

Ann supervising Peter on IC&C duties, feeding the cat and 5 chooks whilst Bev and Tom had family time in Australia.

Spring almost here and birds are looking for nesting sites – two sparrows came down the chimney – you can just see the body of one and the tail of the other one.

Our 34th Wedding Anniversary meal out

Ann is very happy with her gift of books and a new rabbit called Nibbles.

Peter had railway stuff.
