    Attended Rednal Hill Infant and Junior School, followed by Bournville School.

    Whilst at Bournville he served in the RAF section of the school's Combined Cadet Force reaching the rank of Sergeant

    Studied for a HND in Mechanical Engineering at Birmingham Polytechnic

    Graduated from Wolverhampton Univeristy with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Manufacturing in 1994

    Has taught and examined for the Royal Life Saving Society and the Sub Aqua Association, where he specialised in deep water rescue.

    Has served on the committees of Bournville Life Saving Club, Northfield Life Saving Club, the Seekers Sub Aqua Club (Training Officer and Secretary),49th Rifle and Pistol Club, South Staffs Bonsai Society (Secretary) , Friends of the National Bonsai Collection (FNBC) and Hamilton Bonsai Club

    Has worked for Birmingham City Council, Valor Heating, Worrals Powder Coatings, British Polymer Training Association, Darcast Components and The Orchard School.

    Went into IT when he joined BPTA in Telford in 1994 to look after the launch of specialised training software for the plastics industry.

    Made redundant from Darcast Castings in May 2004. Became a Macromedia Certified Dreamweaver Developer in August 2004.

    Hobbies have included Steam locomotive restoration, Scuba Diving, Shooting, Bonsai, Reading and Computers

    Moved to Hamilton, New Zealand in January 2005 and started work at IT Partners. In June 2006 he became a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and in October 2007 a Microsoft Certified Sytems Enginneer (MCSE).

    In 2009 he won the inaugural Emerging Talent Competition at the NZ Bonsai Association Convention in Christchurch.
